What is a Work Order?

A Work Order is the way NS communicates to the warehouse which equipment needs to be assembled and be ready for an installation or pick up.

Why is a work order needed?

Driessen buys most equipment as parts or components and then sell them as equipment. We assemble the equipment according to the water needs of the customer.

Most of the times, the parts needed to build a specific unit, are the same but sometimes, once the salesperson is at the customer’s place and tests the water, talks to the customers and finds out their preferences.   For example, a RO comes with a chrome faucet, but customer prefers a nickel finish faucet.  In this case, the sales person needs to replace the faucet in the sales order.  Once order is approved by GM, then a Work Order is created reflecting that change.

Note: Sales person is in charge to make sure that all parts needed to complete the order are in the SO and any changes needed to fulfill the customer needs are changed/entered in the SO.
